Spurs Steak Ranch Restaurant Review

Hello foodie fam!

I made an unplanned visit to Spurs in Victoria Island, Lagos, some time back and have been meaning to put up this review for sometime now but due to unforseen circumstances ( like nysc posting me to Sokoto *rolling eyes*) I had to postpone this post.

Anyway, let's get into this review!
The first thing I noticed was the cool sea breeze. I immediately started smiling because the Lagos heat had been getting to me.

Now the interior of the restaurant as you can see in the pictures is very lovely. Very family friendly as well. You could bring your children and they would have a swell time. Even their table mats are engaging!

I loved their chandeliers! Also they have very comfortable seats that could easily fit three people.

To the best but not so great part, the food!
Theirs is a simple menu with no cocktails (side eyes)

For drinks you could either have soft drinks, beer or wine and I think they offer fruit drinks like chivita I'm not sure.

By now I'm sure you guys know how indecisive I am even with limited options. I didn't want to have to deal with eating a burger so I asked for their chicken fillet and mashed potatoes. I asked the smiling waiter ( I always look out for this cause you're taking my money, you better smile! ) for sauce suggestions to go with my potatoes. For lack of variety, I had their cream mushroom sauce.

My friend had their burger with fries and a milkshake.

I think because of the really great decor I was expecting something fancy but once my food got to me ( which took a while) I wasn't so excited. As you can see in the picture. No extra plating effort. It looked like the mashed potatoes was placed on the plate with a fork or whatever.

I did not love my food. I did not like the taste of the sauce with my mashed potatoes and my mashed potatoes could've been smoother. The chicken fillet though was alright. It was tender and had a crunchy crust

My friends burger patty was chewy. She did not particularly like her meal either. The milkshake was the only thing that brought a smile.

I must say, I had really great expectations when I got here for something a bit extra hence my disappointment. Perhaps if I had lowered my expectations to fit what you would expect of a fast food with great decor that would've done.

On a brighter note, Spurs is very pocket friendly and a great place to have good cozy conversations ( there were just a few people there when we visited ).

Do you agree?
