Spaghetti Sauce

Hello guys!! How has 2016 been food wise?
Have we all started achieving all our food goals or nah?
Nah on my part to be honest but every day is a new day innit? Lol

A few days back wanted to eat veggies and at the same time spaghetti. I decided to play around and I made something people liked so much I had to share with you guys because  I live all of you so much!!! 😄😄

It was quiet budget friendly too (trust me!)
Here's what I used;

Ingredients;
- tomato paste (2 cooking spoons )

- onions ( 1 whole )

- vegetable oil / olive oil ( 3 cooking spoons )

- carrots ( 3)

-  green beans ( a handful)

- green peas ( a handful )

-  cabbage  (1/4 of a whole)

- pepper and salt (to taste)

-Beef ( 1/2 a kilo)

- fresh tomatoes ( 3 whole)

- green pepper ( optional. I didn't use this as I don't like the bitter taste with spaghetti )

- garlic ( 1 clove)

- seasoning cubes ( 2 and a half)

- curry and thyme ( to taste )

Procedure;

-I washed and prepared my meat the way I usually do in previous blog posts with garlic, a seasoning cube ,some onions, salt and pepper.

- once my meat is ready, I dice it into small pieces and set it aside.

- wash vegetables and cut into small pieces. Roughly cut the cabbage.

- in a clean pot, add your oil, and some salt. When hot add onions and all the vegetables. Keep stir and allow to fry for about a minute or two. You want your veggies fresh. Also add your meat.

- add your tomato paste which you would have diluted to a more runny consistency.

- add all your seasoning. Let it fry for about 5 minutes and turn off heat.

Serve with spaghetti. I ate the remaining sauce with boiled rice.

Now people always have a problem  with the tangy taste of tomato paste. I heard adding a bit of sugar can help but I skipped this. I dealt with this by frying the tomatoes for as long as 5 minutes. Of course I didn't get rid of all the tanginess.

For an extra measure, adding cheese after serving gives you something extra.

Let me know how it goes in the comment section below or send me an email: sharonabak@gmail.com.
