OGBONO SOUP

Hello!

My schedule this final year is not helping my inconsistency but let me drop this recipe. This was my first attempt at making ogbono soup alone and it came out pretty well so I'm sharing!

Ingredients:

- Ground Ogbono. (2 cookingspoons)

- beef

- dry fish (2 pieces )

- stock fish

- crayfish (one and half cooking spoons)

- palm oil (one and half cooking spoons)

- ground fresh pepper (I don't like my food         too hot so I used 2 tablespoons)

- green leaf of choice (I recommend uziza but I couldn't get that)

-onions (1 whole )

- seasoning cubes (2)

- salt (to taste)

Procedure;

- wash beef and stock fish, cook in a clean pot adding salt, pepper, seasoning cubes, onions. Make sure the water in the pot covers it's contents.

- when meat is soft, add washed and deboned dry fish. Also add crayfish. Make sure your stock doesn't dry. It's the base for the soup.

- in a different pot, heat palm oil, take off heat and add your ground ogbono.  Stir till it dissolves.

- add your stock to the dissolved ogbono and stir. Place on heat.

- add beef, stock fish and dry fish. Allow to cook for 20 minutes. people usually don't let it cook long enough. Keep stirring to avoid burning.

- after 20minutes add chopped vegetables. Stir and take off heat.

Serve with swallow!

Let me know how it goes in your kitchen!
