Kumasi City Mall | Jivendi - Restaurant Review

Hey guys!

Special shoutout to my Kumasi peeps, kumasi! Kumasi! Kumasi! (Sarkodies voice).

Today I'm reviewing Jivendi, a simple, cozy restaurant in kumasi. Jivendi is located in the kumasi mall and is hard to miss. Using a cab from KNUST campus to Jivendi should cost you between 25 - 30 gh cedis (your bargaining skills may be stronger than mine though)

Why I especially like this place is the fact that they serve local dishes originally. The man sitting at a table next to mine had his hands in his fufu and light soup bowl while his companion had a knife slicing into her steak. You catch my drift?

I was so hungry when I went there. Had literally not eaten the whole day  so my cranky meter was on a 100 but the friendly waitress helped bring it down to about 60.
She answered my many questions politely. I cannot stress how polite she was.

Now we all know (no shade) that Ghanaian pastry isn't the best. While waiting for my food I ordered their sausage roll and meat pie. All I'm going to say is I took the sausage out of the roll and ate it.

I ordered their kontombre (kon-tom-breh ) sauce with boiled yam. My companion had their vegetable rice with their beef and chicken sauce.

I also asked for their mixed fruit juice (pineapple and watermelon). It was clearly all natural. I loved it!

My sauce was full of bits of fish and chicken so I didn't need to get fish or chicken separately. I really enjoyed my meal and I couldn't even finish my portion. Of course I tried the rice and sauce! it was really tasty too. I noticed shito (a pepper sauce served with a lot of Ghanaian dishes) wasn't served with the food. It wasn't needed/missed anyway.

As a plus I have their menu and price list here for my foodies that like to plan ahead. You would certainly not be breaking the bank if you choose to eat here

I did however notice they had a bit of an insect situation. Nothing serious but it didn't go unnoticed.
Also for my foodie family that love their nicotine and shisha. You cannot smoke in this facility obviously as it's inside the mall.

I would definitely visit again!
