SABOR LAGOS - Restaurant Review

 Hello Foodie Fam!

In my bid to be consistent this month, I set a realistic goal of posting one review a week and this week I'm sharing my trip to Sabor Lagos. Located at 14 Adeola Hopewell St, Victoria Island, LagosSabor Lagos offers the ambiance minimalists would drool over.

Outdoor seating area

If you follow me on social media (@sharonabak) you would know Yehmah (aunty Yehmah as we like to call her). She's my youtuber friend and we go around Lagos together, exploring new and fun places. Her birthday was a few weeks back and she had a dinner party at...yes, Sabor Lagos!

The first thing I noticed was how attentive their staff were. A waiter met us at the car park to help carry our cake inside and got us seated comfortable outside in no time. They seem to know every detail about their menu and described dishes to us to help us place our orders (indecisive much!)

The flaming red decor thing in the middle of the outdoor table immediately attracted us to seat outdoors. We didn't regret that decision considering the heatwave we've been suffering in Lagos because powerful standing fans were strategically placed to make sure no heat or insect got in the way of enjoyment.

Lady O got their Lamb Jungle Yellow Curry with steamed rice. The curry was not as spicy as I would've appreciated but lady O liked it and finished off her plate. The Lamb was tender and wasn't a chore to eat.

Aunty Yehmah got their Seafood Scampi and it was so wonderful foodie fam! Sabor Lagos killed it with that dish. The flavors of the white fish, prawns and calamari came together to make a sauce that was so rich in flavour but not overwhelmingly so. The spaghetti it came with was swimming in this richness and it was altogether an awesome meal. The presentation was A1 as well. Yehmah hit the jackpot and I was so glad she got such an awesome meal on her birthday seeing as it's always a gamble with restaurants these days.

I got their Penne Pasta in Beef Ragu (shocking! we all know I can never escape pasta
for an extra N2,000 (two thousand naira) I could've gotten prawns with my pasta but I did not. Every forkful of penne had beef in it. It was a party in my mouth I tell you! I could not finish my food and had it packed for me. You know that thing they say about leftovers being nicer? That was the case here. When I ate it the next day, it was even better *tears*.

Our meals were served together so there was no awkward waiting and later, our cake came with sparklers and smiling waiters. The music was loud enough to dance to and the music playlist was lit!! Got us singing along, dancing, reminiscing and laughing. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

(L-R) Barcode Bull & Barcode Fire

We got drinks as well. My Barcode Fire was lovely; not too sweet and not too biting. The Barcode Bull on the other hand was too sweet for my liking and aunty Yehmah agreed.

I'm definitely going back to eat my way through their menu. This is a nice place for date night and to bring important guests.

Prices;

Barcode Bull - N1,900
Barcode Fire - N2,700
Lamb Jungle Yellow Curry - N6,000
Seafood Scampi - N6,900
Penne Pasta in Beef Ragu - N5,700

This is without VAT.
