Switch 1922 Lounge and Grill

Hello Foodie Nation!

A friends birthday was on Friday and we were lounging at Switch 1922. Switch is located on Dr Ladi Alakija Street Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, Nigeria. It has both an outdoor and indoor sitting area. The indoor sitting area is perfect for intimate dinners and small groups while the outdoor area is well, perfect for large groups and people watching.

Getting out of my taxi, I had to ask to confirm the building as there is no sign to indicate that you are indeed at Switch 1922. Walking in, I noticed the soft music which is a mix of African and Foreign music. They also have a projector which has movies playing on mute. Perfect for when your date is awkward and you need something to stare at.

The waiter was very attentive and immediately presented their menu to me and my group. Their menu is a mix of African and continental dishes and I was surprised, unlike similar places in Lekki, Switch 1922 is quite affordable.

For the shisha smokers in the house, they have shisha available and I could tell it was a hit because almost every table asked for one.

 For drinks we had a their Long Island, Mojito, Apple juice, Chapman, Beer...(it was a large group). The chapman was delicious and the cocktails were just right. Not the best but good enough to pass.

                                                                    Long Island

                                                                     Mojito

                                                                        Chapman

We asked for their Carnivorous combo which is a platter containing peppered snails, gizzard, goat meat and chicken wings which is served with a side of either yam fries, fried plantain or potato fries. We had ours' with fried plantain and potato fries. It took about 30minutes.

I heard their Jollof rice fiesta was a hit and decided to try it out as well. IT WAS A HIT. It came with Prawns, Shrimps and diced Chicken. The rice grains did not stick together even though the chef used basmati rice.

By the time we were done eating, C and I were ready to dance but alas! Switch is located in a residential area and so can't play loud music so that was bummer and we knew we had to leave.

Did I mention that their Ram suya is also a hit and a great starter while waiting for your food or platter.

Cost Breakdown;

Cocktails   - N2,500

Chapman   - N1,500

Apple Juice - N500

Carnivorous combo - N13,000

I am definitely going back there to eat my way through their menu. Have you been to Switch 1922 Lounge and Grill? Tell us your experience in the comment section.
